Apple has launched the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone. Closed, it uses a 5.4-inch outer display; opened, it becomes a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR foldable display — the largest viewing area in iPhone history, in Apple's framing.

02｜A 7.6-inch fold, and a 5.4-inch cover screen

Opened, the iPhone Duo has a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR OLED foldable display; the outer screen is 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR OLED. Apple says the unfolded display is 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the cover screen covers more than 90% of the iPhone 18 Pro's display area.
Both screens support ProMotion up to 120Hz, adaptive refresh, always-on, and up to 3,000 nits peak outdoor brightness. The 7.6-inch inner display also uses a nano-texture surface.
03｜The fold is not a gimmick — iOS 27 puts it to work
Different fold angles turn the iPhone Duo into a desk clock, a photo frame, a FaceTime device or a video screen. Apple has added Duo dual-side preview and Duo dual-side FaceTime, so the two screens participate together rather than simply being large and small.
The most useful part day to day: it stands on a desk without a separate stand, and whoever you are photographing can watch their own framing on the outer screen.
04｜A20 Pro and a vapour chamber
The iPhone Duo runs the A20 Pro — 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU and two 16-core Neural Engines — with a vapour chamber cooling system for sustained performance under AI, gaming and heavy workloads.
Apple states the 6-core CPU is up to 20% faster than the A19 Pro, with up to 50% more memory bandwidth.

06｜The first dual-battery iPhone: up to 44 hours of video
The iPhone Duo uses a dual-battery system. Apple states up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display, and up to 44 hours on the outer.
Fast wired charging reaches up to 50% in about 20 minutes. Because the Duo is eSIM-only, internal space is freed up for a more flexible battery layout.
Do not overlook the charging gear when you upgrade. Real charging speed still depends on the charger's output, the cable specification, temperature and the device's state at the time.
07｜Siri AI and Apple Intelligence
