With the iPhone 17 line-up out, the question we keep getting is simple: how many times can an iWALK 6th Gen or a MAGO actually charge it?

Here is the whole picture, from cell capacity to real-world charge counts, so you can decide which one to put in your bag.

First, why you get fewer charges than the numbers suggest

People buy on mAh — 5,500mAh for the 6th Gen, 10,000mAh for MAGO. But that figure is the capacity of the cell itself, normally rated at 3.7V. By the time the energy reaches your iPhone it has been through voltage conversion, circuit losses and, for wireless, coil efficiency. What actually lands in the phone is roughly 60–80% of the rating.

  • 6th Gen, 5,500mAh — at around 60% efficiency, roughly 3,300mAh usable
  • MAGO, 10,000mAh — estimated at around 60% over magnetic wireless, roughly 6,000mAh usable. It also supports MagSafe and Qi2, so alignment and stability are better

iPhone 17 battery capacities

  • iPhone 17 — approx. 3,692mAh
  • iPhone Air — approx. 3,149mAh
  • iPhone 17 Pro — approx. 4,252mAh
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max — approx. 5,088mAh

Worth noting: the whole iPhone 17 range carries more battery than the previous generation, and the 17 Pro Max in particular is now into power-bank territory.

So how many charges do you actually get?

iPhone Air3,149approx. 1.05×approx. 1.9×

Table comparing iPhone 17, Air, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max battery capacity against the charge counts available from the iWALK 6th Gen and MAGO

Two things will pull those numbers down in practice:

  • Using the phone while it charges — screen on, high brightness, navigation or video all eat into the transfer
  • Ageing — as a power bank accumulates cycles, the charges it can deliver drop

Which one should you carry?

If you are a light user topping up occasionally, the iWALK 6th Gen Pocket Power Bank 5500mAh (USB-C only) will get an iPhone Air or an iPhone 17 through one full charge.

If you are a heavy user, or on a Pro / Pro Max, take the iWALK MAGO Magnetic Power Bank 10000mAh (MagSafe / Qi2) — more capacity, plus magnetic wireless charging with nothing to plug in.
