What is this for? Will a phone without magnets work once it is applied?

This is a magnetic adapter ring. Applied to the back of a phone or case, it lets a device without built-in magnets hold magnetic accessories such as stands, car mounts and power banks.

The ring contains no electronics — it is stainless steel with 3M double-sided tape, just 0.05 cm thick and about 2.6 grams, so you barely notice it.

Should it go on the phone or the case? How do I position it?

We suggest the back of the case. Applying it directly to the phone body works, but removing it later is more work and may leave adhesive residue on the back panel.

Centre it on the back of the phone; off-centre placement affects how magnetic accessories align and how securely they hold. Clean the surface first, and check the position before peeling off the backing.

Can I still charge wirelessly? Can it be peeled off and reapplied?

The ring is metal and will interfere with wireless charging. If you charge wirelessly day to day, use a case with built-in magnetic support instead.

The 3M adhesive is single-use; once removed its grip drops noticeably, so reapplying is not recommended. Be sure of the position the first time.
